CHAPTER XXXVI. OF AMERICAN DIMES AND HALF-DIMES. §1485. The American dime is a current coin of this Kingdom, at the value of ten dimes for one dollar, and the half-dime, at the value of twenty half-dimes for one dollar; and dimes and half-dimes, if tendered, are to be received at that value, in all payments not exceeding five dollars: and in all payments exceeding five dollars, and not exceeding one hundred, in the proportion of ten for every hundred; and in all payments, exceeding one hundred, and not exceeding one thousand dollars, in the proportion of eight for every hundred; and in the proportion of five for every hundred in all payments exceeding one thousand dollars. §1486. All other foreign coins current in the Kingdom, may be received at the treasury at such rates as the Minister of Finance, with due regard to the interests of the public service, and with the consent of the King in Cabinet Council, shall determine, or be altogether refused, in his discretion, with such consent.* *Note.—See also Act 1876, Ch.
